Description

Yellow photochromic lenses deepen in bright sunlight and lighten again indoors, so one pair covers the whole day.

The Oscar x Frank Estate Sunglasses in Light Tort take the narrow, slightly upswept frame of the nineties and rebuild it by hand. The shape sits close to the face and reads sharp rather than oversized, with fine gold rivets at the outer corners as the only decoration.

The light tortoiseshell acetate is warm and honeyed, a softer alternative to a dark tort, and it sits well against most skin tones. The frame is cut from Mazzucchelli 1849 Italian acetate and hung on Italian Visottica Comotec hinges with rubber coated screws, which is the detail that keeps a frame feeling solid years in.

The lens is the point of difference. Essilor optics in a yellow photochromic tint react to UV, so they deepen outdoors in strong Cape Town light and clear as you step inside, with an anti reflective coating on the inner surface to stop glare bouncing back at you.

Our Policy

Full-priced items may be returned for exchange or store credit within 7 days of purchase, provided that:

The item is unworn, unwashed, and in original condition
All original tags are attached
Proof of purchase is provided

Discounted or sale items are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange under any circumstances.

Refunds, Reversals & Store Credit

South African Card Holders

Refunds (including card reversals or EFT payments) are only applicable for items that are returned within 7 days and that are undamaged and not faulty.
Such items must be returned and presented within 7 days of purchase to qualify.
Approved refunds will be processed:
- Back onto the original card used for purchase, or
- Via EFT

For all other returns, a store credit will be issued. No refunds or reversals will apply.

International Card Purchases

Refunds via bank transfer or card reversal are not available
Returns will be issued as store credit only
If a store credit cannot reasonably be used, a cash refund may be considered in exceptional cases, subject to management approval
A 15% processing fee will be applied to any approved cash refund
All requests must be made within 7 days of purchase

In-Store Purchases

Returns and exchanges must be completed in-store within 7 days of purchase.

Online Orders

Return requests must be submitted within 5 days of delivery in order for item to arrive back in store reliably within 7 days.

Return courier costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless otherwise agreed in exceptional circumstances.

The store needs to be contacted prior to return courier and once approved, items must be returned to Boetiek promptly.

Condition of Returns

All items are inspected upon return. Boetiek reserves the right to decline any return that does not meet the above requirements.
