Boetiek opened its doors in November 2025 with a clear sense of purpose: to bring carefully selected international fashion to Cape Town women in a space that feels genuinely personal. Not a showroom. Not a chain. A boutique — in the truest sense of the word.
From the beginning, the founders have been hands-on and deeply involved in every aspect of what Boetiek is — from the brands we carry to the way a customer is greeted at the door. That involvement has never wavered, and it never will. The standard we set for ourselves on day one is the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.

Our Vision
Boetiek was built around a simple but deeply held conviction: that great dressing is not about trends or price points — it is about pieces that fit well, feel considered, and last beyond the season. We set out to create a boutique that reflected that belief in everything it stocked.
We curate our collection from a selection of imported brands, each evaluated carefully for quality of fabric, construction, and wearability in real life. Every brand on our floor has earned its place — not because it is well-known, but because it is genuinely good. We are always looking, always editing, and never complacent about what we bring to our customers.

Our styling consultants are here not to sell, but to help. They are trained to listen, to understand what you are looking for — even when you are not quite sure yourself — and to find pieces that work for your life, your body, and your sense of style. If you want to browse alone, that is perfectly fine too. The space is yours.

Every brand at Boetiek has been personally selected by our founders. We travel, research, and consider carefully before anything reaches the floor — looking for labels that share our values: quality over quantity, considered design over trend-chasing, and pieces that a woman will still be reaching for three seasons from now.
Our current selection spans contemporary European labels, Australian designers, and a handful of quietly brilliant names that are less widely known but absolutely worth knowing. We evaluate each brand not just on how the clothes look on a hanger, but on how they wear in real life — how they hold their shape, how they feel against the skin, how they move through a day.

The Founders
The concept for Boetiek began with Sonia, who had a vision to create something beautiful for women — right here, close to home on Kloof Street. She wanted to bring back an old-world charm, and to offer the kind of exceptional, personalised service she had experienced at five-star hotels and restaurants around the world, but felt was still largely missing in South Africa. That vision became a reality when she found the perfect building on Kloof Street, and the dream finally had a home. Cape Town is where Sonia lives, and Boetiek is very much one of her children.
Pieter joined Sonia in the early stages of the business, lending his expertise to the planning and implementation that brought the store to life. Together, they created the considered and beautiful space that Boetiek is today. Pieter and Sonia are now co-owners, and both remain deeply committed to the vision they built together.
